White noise when recording1/19/2023 ![]() Also, when I unplug the mic but leave the USB sound card in, I can still hear the noise. This noise will then disappear as you turn the gain dial back to 0. It will start to become evident after roughly 12 oclock on the Scarlett interfaces. So when you turn the gain up on the Scarlett you are adding gain to the input signal but also adding gain to the noise floor. I've also downloaded an Asio driver but when I select this option in preferences it defaults to my laptops microphone and doesn't seem to register the external mic. The noise floor is the sum of the noise each component generates. I have played around with the buffer size but this didn't help. Its like a buzzing, crackling noise that I can't get rid of. When the mic is plugged in through the USB sound card and the Audio Track is armed, there is a terrible background noise. It also came with a USB External Sound Card - I have a feeling this is where the problem lies. I have just bought a condenser microphone kit to start recording vocals with. ![]() ![]() I'm new to Ableton and still on my 30 day trial.
